Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif reviews Youth Program and Low-Cost Housing Scheme

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said that the youth of Pakistan are its greatest strength and the present Government will ensure that the youth is gainfully employed. He said this while chairing a meeting to review the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, here in Islamabad today. The meeting was also attended by Finance Minister Mr. Ishaq Dar and Minister Information Senator Pervez Rasheed.

The Prime Minister was briefed regarding all the features of the Youth Program and it was informed that so far 350,000 feedbacks / suggestions have been received from the general public. The Prime Minister directed that all valuable suggestions should be given due consideration and Projects under the Youth Program be launched as soon as possible.

Prime Minister said that the Government wants to provide various opportunities to the youth including skilled education, trainings, employment and scholarships so that they could contribute positively in all fields.

While chairing another meeting on Low-Cost Housing schemes today, the Prime Minister said that Government plans to construct 500,000 affordable housing units all over the country in five years time through Public-Private Partnership. Prime Minister directed that policy framework in this regard should be prepared by 30th November. He further directed that land identification, survey and estimates for vertical and horizontal housing units be prepared in order to launch the scheme early.

Prime Minister said that low-cost and affordable housing units would enhance the quality of life of the common man and would also provide employment opportunities, better sanitation, and social protection for the shelter-less.
