On the directions of PM, different Ministries and departments of the Government have submitted report on the steps taken for public welfare

·        On the directions of Prime Minister Imran Khan, different Ministries and departments of the Government have submitted report on the steps taken for public welfare.


·        Different Ministries and divisions have highlighted 64 new initiatives. These initiatives are in addition to the routine business of the ministries and divisions.


·        Out of these 64 new initiatives, 35 have been implemented while work is in progress on the remaining 28.


·        These initiatives are aimed at improvement in the living conditions, making lives of the people easier, and facilitating them through solving their problems, the aspect that was not in focus during the past.


·        Ministry of Communications reported that for the first time in the country’s history the system for disbursement of remittances from the Overseas Pakistani workers to their families back home free of cost has been implemented.    


·        The Ministry of Communications has also implemented the facilitation mechanism for the persons with special needs for accessing and travelling on motorway.


·        Pakistan Television has been instructed by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting to allocate time for weather related news for the information of different segments of society in general and for the farmers in particular.


 ·        In order to facilitate Women, NADRA offices spread across the country have declared Friday as “women only day” enabling the women to access NADRA offices on Friday exclusively in addition to routine days of the week.


·       SAPM on Social Protection & Poverty Alleviation has circulated the Policy on Governance to all the members of the Federal Cabinet.


·        The Power Division has made available a comprehensive Public Complaint Redressal mechanism that is being made more robust and effective. Customers can get redressal of their complaints through calling the toll-free number of 118.


·        Instructions from the Establishment Division have been issued to all the divisions to fill the Class IV posts in various departments.


·        Ministry of Foreign Affairs has introduced a Queue Management System in Pakistan Missions Abroad to improve quality of services offered to Pakistani workers abroad. 


·        A mobile app has been introduced by the Aviation Division to provide weather updates. 


·        National Health services, Regulations & Coordination Division is implementing Automated Queue management / Token systems at the OPDs of all the hospitals.


·        Economic Affairs Division has informed that a pilot project has been initiated in collaboration with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for review of the water transmission system.


 ·        Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis has reported that a mobile application called "Call Sarzameen" has been launched to facilitate Overseas Pakistanis.


 ·        Information Technology and Telecom Division reported that the National Incubation Center Peshawar has introduced new innovations regarding smart helmets for the people related to the mining sector.



·        Parliamentary Affairs Division reports that a gallery is being designated for the common man in the National Assembly and the Senate. Significant work has been accomplished in this regard. 


The Establishment Division has informed that it is being ensured that the pension papers of retired employees are fully prepared within a week and that they have no difficulty in receiving pension.


 ·        Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Division is disseminating data relating to Pakistani prisoners released by Saudi Arabia and UAE to the concerned families.


·        Ministry of Religious Affairs is compiling data of properties under Evacuee Trust Property Board.


·         Petroleum Division is implementing the proposal to provide masks and gloves to people working at petrol pumps so that their health is not suffered due to petrol fumes.



·        Communications Division is implementing various projects to positively harness the capabilities of the youth.


·        Special steps are being taken by Ministry of Information & Broadcasting to curb fake news. In this regard, "E" letter is being released.


·        A special cell has been set up by the Ministry of Finance to monitor the news regarding the economy. The purpose of this initiative is to promptly check any fake or baseless news about the economy, while informing the public timely regarding news about the economy. 


·        Law & Justice Division and Human Rights Division have stated steps are being taken to enforce existing laws regarding child pornography.  


·        Petroleum and Power Divisions have stated that the time frame for the payment of utility bills has been revised. Consumers are being given ten days time to pay electricity bills.



·        Establishment Division has stated that it has been made mandatory for the officers of Grade 17 & 18 of Pakistan Administrative Service and Police Service to initiate self-sustaining public welfare schemes in their areas of responsibility aimed at better service delivery. 


·        Human Rights Division has stated that Child Abuse Awareness Campaign is being launched to protect the rights of children. In addition to this, steps are being taken to raise awareness about the education of girls through truck art. Special steps are also being taken by the Human Rights Division for Transgender’s  rights’ protection and police is also being sensitized.



·        Narcotics Control Division has reported that it is inaugurating "Zindagi" app to control drug addiction. ·

        The Establishment Division has stated that processing fees of up to Rs- 400 to 500/-has been waived off that was earlier charged for the application of Class IV jobs. 


·        Aviation Division has stated that ASF personnel have been instructed to facilitate passengers at airports to the maximum possible extent in terms of swift clearance.


 ·        ASF personnel will not display weapons. In addition, it is being ensured to fast track the clearance process at ASF check points to the maximum possible extent. 


·        Aviation Division is going to inaugurate Weather Studio (Media Center).


        Power Division has stated that rates of electricity will be reduced during winters.


·        Cabinet Division stated that funds have been released for various projects under the Sustainable Development Goals. The provincial chief secretaries have confirmed that the funds have been released to the districts.



·        Overseas Pakistanis & Human Resource Division has informed that 3% quota is being allocated for children with disabilities in all the institutions of the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation; directions have been issued to all OPF schools for provision of wheelchairs to the disabled. At the same time,  discount is being given in the fees for children of disabled persons.


 ·        In addition to the above steps, job quota for disabled is being implemented strictly. 


·        The Ministry of Information has issued directions to electronic media channels, including PTV, to include sign language interpretation in the broadcast for the audience with specific needs. 


·        Climate Change Division has reported that a consultation process has been started with the stakeholders and feasibility study is being undertaken for provision of solar stoves to prevent deforestation.


·        Ministry of Kashmir Affairs & Gilgit Baltistan has reported on the investment proposals from the potential foreign based investors, for investment in AJ&K


·        The Ministry of Communications has informed that work is underway on the establishment of four driving license centers in collaboration with the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.


·        Law & Justice Division has informed that the proposal for establishment of "Imran Khan Legal Helpline Email" is under consideration.


·        The Establishment Division has informed that instructions have been issued to all Chief Secretaries regarding the holding of Joint Khuli Katchehris of District Administration and Public representatives. 


·        Housing & Works Division has reported that work is underway to develop a plan of action regarding utilization of land occupied by government houses. 


·        Under the directions of the Prime Minister, all ministries and government offices are ensuring that well-trained and civilized employees are deployed at the reception of the offices to facilitate the public. 


·        Embassies of Pakistan are being reoriented to promote exports, trade and attract FDI.



·        Minister for Maritime Affairs has informed that a proposal for construction of high rise buildings at Karachi Port Trust is under consideration for low-income employees. 


·        The Interior Division has informed that strict action is being taken against those involved in organized crime in the federal capital and a report will be submitted to the Prime Minister's Office on a monthly basis in this regard.


 ·        The National Heritage Division has been informed that consultation is in progress regarding the establishment of the Heritage Authority. 


·        The Foreign Ministry has informed that embassies are developing a comprehensive system for obtaining feedback to facilitating Pakistanis abroad.

Work on the establishment of a special economic zone for Information Technology in Islamabad is underway.


 ·        SAPM on Overseas Pakistanis informed that a plan of action is being developed to educate the children working at the brick kilns. Focus is also being given on protecting the rights of those working in homes and informal sectors. 


·        The Economic Affairs Division reported that recommendations have been finalized, in consultation with Kiln owners, regarding the tax issue.


 ·        National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination Division has stated that proper disposal of hospital waste is being ensured. This decision has been enforced in Islamabad while it is being implemented in the provinces.



·        The Human Rights Division has stated that work  and consultations are going on regarding the establishment of Human Rights Information Management System. This system will enable the collection of information on the basis of education, health and social protection. 


·        SAPM on National Health Services informed that special measures are being taken to discourage adulteration of food items and medicines.


 ·        Ministry of Interior informed that alternate locations are being provided to individuals whose “khokhas” had been displaced by CDA under Court orders.


 ·        Communications Division reported that an Internship scheme is being introduced to provide internship to thirty-five thousand youth every year. 


·        The Finance Ministry has stated that Corporate Social Responsibility Voluntary Guidelines have been issued to all companies. 


·        Aviation Division reported that proposal for the establishment of E-gates at Islamabad International airport is being considered to facilitate and expedite immigration process for the passengers.


 ·        Ministries have been directed to send a report on the implementation of these measures to the Prime Minister's Office regularly.
