Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has expressed grief and sorrow over the sad demise of King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz of Saudi Arabia.
The Prime Minister announced mourning for one day during which time national flag would remain at half mast.
In a message the Prime Minister said that being the custodian of the Holy Mosques he had a special place in the heart of every Pakistani. Extending condolences to the Saudi royal family as well as the people of the Kingdom he said the whole Pakistani nation is with their Saudi brethren in this hour of grief.
Later, the Prime Minister left for Saudi Arabia on a two-day visit to attend the funeral of the late King.
