A delegation of Senators from Federally Administered Areas (FATA) called on Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif at the PM’s House here today.
Talking to the delegation the Prime Minister said that Government would continue to provide necessary funds for the development of FATA particularly for the provision of health and education facilities.
He said government is taking steps for providing more employment opportunities to the youth of FATA.
Matters relating to the re-settlement of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) dislocated as a result of Operation Zarb-e-Azb also came under discussion.
The Prime Minister said that Government has provided billions of rupees for providing relief and sustenance to the IDPs and would facilitate their resettlement in their areas. The Prime Minister said that efforts should be made to exploit the huge marble reserves present in the tribal areas and emphasized the use of latest machinery in this regard.
The delegation apprised the Prime Minister of matters relating to their areas.
The delegation comprised Senator Abbas Khan Afridi, Minister for Textile Industry; Senator Engr. Malik Rashid Ahmed Khan; Senator Haji Khan ; Senator Hilal-ur-Rehman; Senator Muhammad Saleh Shah; Senator Muhammad Idrees Khan Safi; Senator Hidayat Ullah and Senator Najmul Hassan.
Mr. Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Finance and Barrister Zafar Ullah Khan, Special Assistant to Prime Minister also attended the meeting.
