PM’s Fee Reimbursement Scheme for more than 4500 post-graduate students of Southern Punjab will be kicked off tomorrow at Multan

Prime Minister’s Fee Reimbursement Scheme for more than 4500 post-graduate students of Southern Punjab will be kicked off tomorrow at Multan under the patronage of Prime Minister Youth Programe (PMYP).

The maiden launch of the 100% PMFRS was held in Baluchistan by Finance Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on 21 May and subsequently in Peshawaron 2nd of this month by the Chairperson of PMYP Mohtarma Mayram Nawaz Sharif.

A high-level meeting to finalize the arrangements for 100% fee reimbursement scheme presided over by the Chairperson PMYP Mohtarma Maryam Nawaz Sharif held, here today, decided that the Chairperson PMYP will present 100% fee reimbursement cheques tomorrow at Multan to the students hailing from the less developed districts of Southern Punjab including Multan, Bahawalpur, DG Khan, Layyah, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Kushab and Attock  undertaking MA, MSc, MS, M Phill or PhD courses from the HEC recognized public sector universities. 


The meeting was informed that out of the total 40,000 post-graduate students domiciled in less developed areas of the country, more than 4500 post-graduate students of Southern Punjab will benefit from the 1.20 billion rupees scheme launched by the present democratic government to encourage the quest of higher education for the students facing financial constraints. The scheme will sponsor the 100% educational expenses of the post-graduate students of less developed areas of the Southern Punjab, interior Sindh, entire Balochistan, KPK including FATA, AJK and GB in the FY 2013-14, the meeting was further informed. 

The meeting also gave a nod to the schedule for reimbursement of 100% educational expenses to the students hailing from Interior Sind, AJK and GB before the end of June 2014.  

The meeting was attended by senior officials of the PMYP and Higher Education Commission.
