Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif has said that friends of Pakistan must acknowledge its sacrifices in war on terror in a solid manner. He said that Pakistan’s economy suffered heavily and now it is the world that has to pay back in terms of enhanced cooperation in trade and economy. He was talking to French President Francois Hollande on the side-lines of Nuclear Security Summit, here this afternoon. He said that Pakistan attaches special importance to its relations with France and hopes that these relations will continue to improve in all fields of cooperation in future.
The French President said that France acknowledges Pakistan’s sacrifices in war on terror. He appreciated Economic Reforms being undertaken by the Government. He appreciated the initiative Pakistan was taking to normalise its relations with India. The Prime Minister replied that Pakistan is keen to normalise it relations with India, but also underlined the importance of solution of Kashmir issue. French President expressed that France was also looking to continue and improve relations with Pakistan in all fields especially in trade and defence.
French President greeted the Prime Minister at the success of party in recent elections in the country and on National Day of the country. The Prime Minister thanked French support to Pakistan’s bid for GSP plus.
